Becoming overweight. Having too a lot fat can literally bring you down. The fat of one’s body is being balanced mainly in your spinal joints and muscle groups and getting too a lot to bear can stress your back. Lessen your wight so your back pain would not occur.

Back Pain – A Different Approach

Matsyasan (Fish Pose)

Lie in your back, knees bent and arms at your side. Arch your back as far as you are able to. Raise your back again by pushing off the floor with your elbows. If you can, tilt your head backwards and rest the crown of your head about the floor. Breathe deeply from the diaphragm and hold pose for one minute.

Salabhasan (Locust Pose)

Lie face down, arms at the side, palms down and elbows slightly bent. Your fingers should point towards the feet. Raise your legs and thighs as high off the ground as possible with out causing your back again any pain. Hold for one second and repeat as numerous times as is comfortable for you personally but no much more than twelve times.

Types Of Back Surgery – Back Pain

A few months ago I was facing back surgery. Unlike most people with an aching back physical therapy and ice packs didn’t bring relief. As I considered my options I began to investigate the different types of spinal surgery. I found out that there are several different types of back operations depending on the symptoms. Below I have created a short list of the most common procedures.

The procedure I had was a discectomy. This is where a piece of the disc is removed to relieve pressure on your nerves. disectomy is the most common form of back operation. In my case the surgeon also created more space between my disc and the nerve.

Another common procedure is the foramenotomy.  Here the disc is removed plus some bone and other tissue, obviously a little more severe than a discectomy.

Older Age: Okay as we age muscles get weaker and bone loses calcium. Disc in the spine lose flexibility and deteriorate.

Female Gender: Again I don’t know why unless it has something to do with pregnancy.

Another great technique to use will require the assistance of a hard surface, such as a floor. You will need to lay completely flat on your back with your legs straight on the floor. Using both of your hands you should touch your left knee and bring it as close to your chest as you can. Hold this position for 10 seconds and then slowly, with your hands lower your leg back to the original position. Alternate to the right leg and repeat this for three sets.

Sedentary Work: Sedentary work can led to weak muscles, then you play a round of golf on the weekend –  results a pain in the back.

Stressful Job: I think we are only just beginning to understand the role stress can play in our overall health.

Anxiety & Depression: Same as above.

The nervous system of the human body consists of two parts. The voluntary nervous system is the one you control with your brain. If you suffer from any of the symptoms listed in this article, it may be worth your while to have your dentist perform a TMD screening. I speak from personal experience; I suffered from lower back pain and numbness in the fingers for many years, potentially a career ending condition for a dentist. I never believed I had TMD because my jaw joints never hurt. With the proper diagnosis and treatment of my TMD, however, I have now been pain free for over two years, and continue to practice dentistry with no numbness in my fingers
